Annual Memorial Service & General Meeting

On the second Sunday each July, starting at 2:00 PM the Perth Cemetery Company holds its Annual General Meeting. This brief meeting, required by law, carries out the business prescribed such as approving the audited financial report, ratifying changes made to the Company’s by-laws and electing new members to the Board of Directors.

 

As soon as the meeting is concluded, an inter-faith Elmwood Cemetery Memorial Service takes place, during which the names of recent interments are read. Many family and friends take special time to visit and decorate the resting places on the day of this service.

 

In case of inclement weather, the event is moved inside the cemetery office building.
